Professor Judd received his bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering in 1963 and his PhD in metallurgical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1967. Judd joined the Rensselaer faculty in 1967 and was appointed full professor in 1976. Appointed dean of the faculty in 1993, he served in administrative posts from 1975 to 1997 including vice provost, acting provost, and dean of the graduate school. Judd is currently Professor Emeritus in the Lally School of Management at Rensselaer. He is a fellow of the American Society for Metals International, and was the recipient of the Alfred Geisler Award of the Eastern New York Chapter of the ASM.
